Parliament Celebrates Pride Month with Public Release of LGBTQ Interfaith Webinars

June marks the start of Pride, a month long celebration and promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people as a social group. The Parliament remains committed, as we affirmed in 2016 in the Statement on the Homophobic Massacre of LGBTQI Community Members and Allies in Orlando, to erradicating hate and violence against the LGBTQ+ community around the world.

In 2020, the Parliament hosted a special interfaith webinar series with faith, spiritual and social leaders from around the world on the dignity of the LGBTQ+ community and the role our communities of faith must play.

This Pride Month, we invite the global interfaith movement to watch, reflect and share these critical discussions, available for the first time to the general public.

June also marks the last month that the Parliament will be accepting proposals for programs at the upcoming 2021 Parliament, to be hosted virtually in October.

Are you a member of the LGBTQ+ community working in the faith/spiritual/interfaith sphere? Are you a faith leader actively working to prevent violence and hate toward members of the LGBTQ+ community? Are you committed to the inclusion and dignity of the global LGBTQ+ community? Propose a program and help the Parliament highlight the voices of the community.
