The role of the Ambassador is a select opportunity, open to leaders who are involved and invested in the interfaith movement in their local communities

Want to become an Ambassador of the Parliament of the World's Religions? Learn about the program below and apply.


  • Facilitate 1-4 Listening Sessions for the Global Listening Campaign 

  • Support CPWR initiatives wherever possible, e.g. Faiths Against Hate and Partner Cities.

  • Participate in 2-3 trainings for Ambassadors by webinar or conference call.

  • Participate in ongoing interfaith events in your community as an Ambassador of the Parliament.

  • Attend the next Parliament, if possible.

  • Host or participate in pre-Parliament events in your community.

  • Encourage registrations for the next Parliament.

  • Encourage donations and support for the Parliament.

  • Help us think of ways to fund CPWR initiatives.

  • Submit stories about your activities, accomplishments and latest developments in your interfaith work, along with photos, when possible, to the office by e-mail to


  • We promote the mission and values of the Council of the Parliament of the World’s Religions (CPWR) in cultivating harmony and fostering engagement to achieve a just, peaceful & sustainable world.

  • We listen and speak with respect

  • We raise awareness about the global interreligious movement by mobilizing networks to come together on the issues most important to them

  • We are official spokespeople for the CPWR.

  • We build knowledge about and interest in the 2015 Parliament by hosting outreach events.

  • We are a resource for the CPWR and provide prompt feedback when requested.

Code of Ethics

  • We build trust at all times.

  • We act with integrity, honesty and compassion.

  • We respect the individual and his/her culture and faith

  • We contribute to a climate of open and honest communication.

  • Communications from other Ambassadors are held in confidence.

  • We support one another and refrain from gossip.

  • If there is a problem, we talk to the person who can do something about it, rather than make general complaints.
