Housing Justice and How Faith Leaders Are Making a Difference

Session Description:

This session discusses the appeal of the document “Toward a Global Ethic” which calls for active, ongoing dialogue about the creation of a just, peaceful, and sustainable future for the entire Earth community. Housing Justice is an area of global suffering and concern. Where we live is more than just an address; the spaces where we live determine whether the air we breathe, the water we drink, or land on which we live will be clean or contaminated. Faith leaders across the globe are uniquely positioned to seize the power of this moment and support housing as a basic human right. This session discusses ways communities can make housing justice possible along with raising up equitable solutions and policies that affect millions of people. As change unfolds, these communities are building support for housing as a foundation that can increase people’s access to healthy, resilient environments where quality healthcare, education, jobs, credit, and food are a new normal.
