Migrants an Energetic Presence in the Catholic Church

The Age reports that Robert Dixon addressed the Parliament of Religions on the importance of migrant communities to the Catholic Church.  ”Because of their presence in the parish, liturgy is more vibrant and there’s a greater sense of faith and spirituality,” he said, speaking at the Parliament program Integration of Immigrants and Refugees into Australia: Interfaith and Cross-Cultural Understanding.

Robert Dixon is the Director of the Pastoral Projects Office of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.  The article also discussed religious participation by group and the increasing role of migrants in Australian churches.
