Interfaith Youth Leadership and Action

Session Description:

The Temple of Understanding is proud to present this session, led by Amy Pacula, our Director of Summer Internships. Featured speakers are interns themselves, who have participated in interfaith education and studied the work and moral leadership of the United Nations, as they have developed their own projects toward defending freedom and human rights. For many years the late Sister Joan Kirby helped students develop their passion; now Ms. Pacula has guided many cohorts of interns and inspired their visions of service to our world. Topics include human rights law, cyberspace, digital technology, humanitarian emergencies, and youth empowerment, as the graduated interns reflect on their interfaith education and visions for defending human rights and religious freedom in our sorely troubled world. Alison Van Dyk and Grove Harris briefly speak to youth involvement at the UN.
