Creation and Creation Care for Kids: Narratives, Crafts, and Activities from the World’s Faith Traditions

Room 716A
The oldest (and most common) myths in human history are creation stories, many of which are also integrated into religious traditions. In this workshop the presenter will share some of the stories, crafts, and activities they use with the kids in their program (preschool through 8th grade). The stories come from various ancient traditions/cultures, including Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, Indigenous Australian, Native American, Sub-Saharan African, Nordic, and Vedic. Workshop attendees will also try some of our techniques to provide a sense of how we accommodate children of different ages, how we promote creation care, and how we help kids recognize their own divine creativity.
