Interfaith Education in Schools

Room 716A
Description:
We live in challenging times. Fear of “the other” remains widespread, and often leads to hate and violence. But when we can help children and adults begin to develop interfaith literacy, we lay the foundation for living together with understanding, acceptance, and respect. We create greater peace. This Session focuses on interfaith education in three different educational settings: • How Do We Help Young Children Develop an Understanding of Interfaith? • What Are the Challenges to Creating Inter-Religious Understanding in Islamic Schools? • How Can We Provide “Best-Practice” Resources for Teachers Who Work with Children of Different Faiths?
