Presenting the New Documentary Film: “The Gate: Dawn of the Bahá’í Faith”

Room JBT - 102
The recently released documentary film, “The Gate: Dawn of the Bahá’í Faith”, will be presented and followed by a panel discussion with the film-makers. This documentary tells the story of one of the Founders of the Bahá’í Faith, known as "The Báb". Award-winning director, Bob Hercules (Maya Angelou, And Still I Rise) combines expert interviews, artful reenactments, original music, graphics, and archival images. The film is unique because, according to Bahá’í principles, the Báb is a Holy Figure Who may not be portrayed on-screen; hence, creative techniques were developed to tell the story accurately without portrayal of the Bab on-screen. The panel will feature the Director, the co-writer, the Executive Producer, and a renowned scholar who will discuss the script, the interviews, the reenactments, interacting with the organized institutions of the Bahá’í Faith, and marketing.
