Re-Examining Martin Luther King Jr.’s World House

Room 701B
This paper re-examines “The World House”, the last chapter in Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community, the last book authored by the Civil Rights leader, within the context of Dr. King’s doctrine of plurality and how he would perhaps view his World House eight years into the 21st century. The thesis of this presentation suggests that what Martin Luther King Jr. saw as the moral and spiritual challenges facing America and the World House in the 1960s, are today still paralyzing and polarizing America and the world.
