Room 701A
Description:
Compassion is a fundamental tenet of essentially every faith tradition. Over the last three decades, neuroscience has made extraordinary advances in regard to understanding brain mechanism and more recently having a clearer understanding of the importance of compassion and altruism not only in humans but in a variety of mammals and other living organisms in regard to health, wellness and survival. In the human species, the critical importance of compassion in our evolution as a species will be discussed. Additionally, the impact of artificial intelligence on humans and the requirement that such technologies must be imbued with empathy and compassion will also be discussed.
