Our Toronto Host
The 2018 Parliament of the World's Religions is being organized in partnership with the Toronto Hosting Committee.
Toronto has been selected as the Host City of the seventh Parliament of the World’s Religions to be convened November 1-7, 2018. Over 10,000 people from 70 countries are expected to attend the conference involving 500 programmes, workshops and dialogues, as well as exhibits, arts and cultural events and other related programming.
The agenda of the Parliament is being developed by the international Parliament of the World’s Religions, in cooperation with local organizing collaborators under the umbrella of the Parliament of the World’s Religions - Toronto 2018, its Board of Directors, Steering Committee, and related subcommittees. The Advisory Council of the Parliament of the World’s Religions - Toronto 2018 will play a vital role in ensuring the success of this event.
As part of this effort, members of the Advisory Council will:
- Collaborate with the Board to promote the visibility of the 2018 Parliament throughout Canada and internationally;
- Mobilize public-private awareness, provide guidance and render advice on broader policy matters.
- Identify suitable interfaith and multicultural events to speak briefly about the upcoming Parliament and to encourage interest and participation across the widest possible spectrum of Canadian social life;
- Work with the Board and international Council staff to help connect us with philanthropists, foundations and funding agencies that may have an interest in providing financial support.
