2015 Parliament Schedule

Salt Palace Convention Center

The 2015 Parliament begins on Thursday, October 15th with the full-day Inaugural Women’s Assembly at 9:00 a.m. and the opening of registration. The Opening Plenary Celebration held in evening will kick off the 2015 Parliament!

Religious and Spiritual Observances will be held on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and will continue throughout the days in faith spaces curated within the Salt Palace Convention Center.

Daily workshops are scheduled in 90 minute modules across parallel morning and afternoon sessions featuring prominent speakers, panels, arts and creative expressions, lectures, films, interactive trainings, and more. See the Full Schedule of Workshops.

Plenary Sessions will be held at least once each day for all attendees focusing on the prime subjects and celebrated constituencies of the 2015 Parliament. Themes including climate and environmental issues, war, violence and hate speech, and economic inequity will be addressed by such keynote speakers as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and others to be announced. Individual commitments of compassion, peace, justice and sustainability will be featured in these events. Dedicated plenaries for all attendees will advocate the participation, perspectives, leadership and experience of women, youth, and indigenous peoples in the interfaith movement.

Tickets are available for the Golden Banquet* featuring His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Dr. Karen Armstrong, will be Sunday from 11:30-1:30. The Sacred Music Evening will be on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. and will be in the Morman Tabernacle, close to the Salt Palace.

The Closing Plenary will be Monday, October 19th at 3:30 p.m. - a culmination of the relationships, inspiration, tools and commitments to advance peace, justice and sustainability the interfaith movement fosters in the world.

Each day from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Langar, a vegetarian meal that brings people together around sharing the meal, will be shared at no expense to Parliament attendees as a gift of the Sikh tradition. Spaces for “meet-ups”, connections and conversations will be accessible throughout the convention center. In addition to an exhibit hall of displays and booths, film screenings will be held continuously in an adjacent theatre. After-hours events and activities are being hosted and planned by Salt Lake area university students. Parliament excursions into the Salt Lake and surrounding region may be included in the 2015 Parliament program for no or additional costs.
