The Yoruba people's Osun Osogbo festival, which takes place every year in Osogbo, Nigeria, celebrates the goddess of water and fertility, Osun. The festival acknowledges the healing power of the river and the goddess and is a thanksgiving for the abundance of water. The festival renews the contract between humans and the divine: Osun offers grace to the community; in return, it vows to honor her Sacred Grove.
