Lucy Cummings is the Executive Director of Faith & the Common Good (http://www.faithcommongood.org), a national, interfaith, charitable network dedicated to creating more sustainable communities. Through education, capacity building & collaborative action, Faith & the Common Good’s programming seeks to harness the power of Canada’s diverse faith communities to encourage: community greening & regeneration; interfaith climate justice, ecosystem and water protection alliances; and increased support for climate vulnerable neighbors. Each year Faith & the Common Good, through its Greening Sacred Spaces chapters, collaborates with hundreds of local faith-based, environmental, Indigenous, municipal and community organizations, from dozens of different spiritual and cultural traditions, to host almost 1,000 sustainability events and activities that reach more than 10,000 Canadians. Lucy is a trustee of Green Communities Canada and Community Resilience to Extreme Weather (CREW) Toronto; a member of the Parliament of World's Religions Climate Action Task Force; and a fellow at Seacology. She holds a BA in economics from University of Virginia, a Master’s in religious ethics from Yale’s Divinity School and a Ph.D. in global politics from Johns Hopkins University.
